Welcome to another year at Bradford Dolphin SC. Please read the complete Membership Application form along with these accompanying notes carefully before completing the form. The information that we/the ASA require you to complete on the form is very important and needs to be accurate.
Membership fees for the year commencing 1st December were approved at the AGM and are due for payment no later than 1st December. After 1st December, fees will be subject to a late payment charge of £3 per member and training will be at the non-member rates until fees are settled in full.
If, for personal circumstances, you have difficulty in paying by the above date, please contact the Treasurer in strictest confidence to make a mutually convenient arrangement to settle the fees.
It is a requirement of the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) that all new swimmers and social members of the club are registered with the ASA following the third training session. Payment of fees also ensures that you are insured under the ASA Law.
Fees are made up of Dolphin membership fees and other levies/membership fees (ASA, NER, Yorkshire) that the club is obliged to collect. The club will remit the necessary fee to the ASA and other relevant bodies to ensure that we comply with the rules.
Dolphin fees have increased this year primarily to cover the increasing levies that we are subject to. Historically, Dolphins has covered some of these levies but it has become necessary to pass these on from this year along with the ASA levy on members. Our fees remain very competitive with those of other clubs in the area.
One parent/carer from every family must become a Dolphin social member if the swimmer is under 18 years of age. This is important to ensure that sufficient people will be able to vote at the AGM, and to ensure that any decisions taken represent the widest possible viewpoint. The fee for the first parent/carer is automatically included in the swimmers fee.
It is extremely important the parent registering is the one who participates in voluntary activities i.e. assisting with training, timekeeping or marshalling at galas etc. It is a requirement of the ASA that any parent/non swimming member who has contact with swimmers through club activities is a member of the club and goes through a full CRB check.
A second parent/carer/other adult can become a social member by completing the form and paying an additional social members fee as below.
Please note, any swimmer who will be 17 before 31st December 2009 will pay the reduced fee for over 17’s for this year.
Any member not wishing to rejoin the club in the new membership year should notify the club in writing.
Where you are joining the club for the first time, you will be required to complete and sign a further form which requires submission to the ASA. We would ask that when you receive this form, you deal with it promptly to avoid any delays and complications with your membership.
If you pay your ASA registration via another club e.g. City of Bradford, please state this clearly on the form and include the swimmer’s ASA registration number in the appropriate place. You only have to pay ASA registration once per year.
If the swimmer is registered with another club, e.g. City of Bradford, please state this clearly on the form, with the registration number, as we need to ensure that you are correctly assigned ‘dual club’ registration with the ASA.
There are three categories of membership – swimmers will be in either Open or Local dependent on the level for competitive swimming – if you are unsure which you are in, please check with your coach before sending the form and payment back.
